The AS 901 SM offers high work rates and perfect maneuverability whether on slopes, dense growth or tall grass. A Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Series twin-cylinder engine with 480 ccm displacement, up to 16.0 hp, and an oil and fuel pump performs in tough conditions without the risk of damagingI. Propulsion is via a 5-speed manual transmission with reverse (1.8 km / h) covering a speed range of 1.2 to 4.0 km / h. The rear axle differential is permanently locked, providing excellent traction even on wet grass. Twin tires provide even greater traction and stability while a vertically installed engine provides a low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution, totaling 215 kg.

The operation is simple, convenient and safe

The AS 901 SM is conveniently operated via four levers. Individual wheels are controlled via a patented brake steering and clutch system, whereby light pressure on the respective wheel operating lever opens the limited slip differential; full pressure activates the brake on that wheel. In addition, the limited slip differential is permanently locked while driving, and the automatic parking brake engages as soon as the operating lever is released. This additional safety feature stops the forage harvester on both inclines and flats. Teflon-coated stainless steel Bowden cables ensure a minimum expenditure of force. The result is safe, simple and convenient operation.

Robust scourge cutting unit

With a robust 90 cm wide flail mower unit equipped with 26 pairs of Y-shaped flails, the AS 901 SM is designed for tough conditions. The flail mower can cut grass up to 130 cm high at working rates of up to 3,600 m² per hour. The cutting unit is supported by pendulum bearings, providing uniform mulching results by compensating for uneven ground. Scourges overcome obstacles, protecting both the engine and the operator from damage. A perforated impact guard provides additional safety.

The cutting height can be adjusted in 6 levels from 10 to 100 mm, while the operating bar can be conveniently adjusted laterally and in height to suit both the operator and working conditions.
